Oskarshamn Airport has a small service station to serve the aircrafts that visit us. We have JET A-1 for turboprop/JET engines and Avgas 100 LL for piston engines. Refuelling at Oskarshamn Airport is only possible on request. Payment for refueling is cash in Swedish crowns or Euro for private flights, only commercial airlines and may be sent an invoice. For inquiry call AFIS: +46491 640 41.
Jet A1
similar to regular diesel fuel in it's properties, but with significantly lower boiling point, lower viscosity, higher chemical stability, better thermal resistance (jet should withstand at least -40 ° C and preferably -50 ° C), much higher sulfur content, etc. Jet Fuel has often got a low cetane number and very poor lubricating properties compared to diesel. More recently it has also been developed some diesel engines, mainly for light aircraft which can use Jet A1 fuel. Many of the major engine manufacturers, however, prohibit the use of operating at 100% jet fuel in its diesel engines. U.S. military forces among others have land vehicles, which can be driven for a short period of time on jet fuel, with the addition of lubricity additives and cetane additive.
Avgas 100LL
is the most common fuel for aircraft with piston engines, where "Avgas" stands for "Aviation gasoline", and "LL" for "Low Lead" (low lead content). Avgas 100 LL is highly flammable. Therefore, aircraft are grounded before refueling to prevent sparks arising from static electricity. The price of Avgas 100LL was in August 2006 of approximately SEK 10 per liter, today you will have to pay 19,72 SEK/litre. In July 2008 Jet A-1 was tax based. Air Fuel Exhaust 100LL is colored blue.
